Something VINTAGE Is Coming to the Historic Downtown Lamy’s
Some buildings aren’t finished when the construction crews leave.
They continue to evolve with every business that opens its doors, every customer who walks through them, and every new chapter written inside their walls.
And this September, another chapter begins.
We’re excited to officially welcome Journey Vintage & Co. to the Lamy’s family, opening just after Labor Day in the former Kempf’s space.
If you’ve spent time exploring downtown Sedalia over the years, chances are you’ve wandered through Nostalgia. It became a favorite destination for vintage lovers, treasure hunters, and anyone who appreciated finding something with a story to tell.
Now, that story continues.
After spending the past 10 years helping her parents run Nostalgia, Kendra Taylor is beginning a journey of her own with Journey Vintage & Co.—a new business that carries forward the tradition she helped build while giving her the opportunity to make it her own.
And the name couldn’t be more fitting.
“Enjoy the journey” was a saying Kendra and her mom shared through their years with Nostalgia. As Kendra began dreaming about what came next, Journey Vintage & Co. felt like the perfect way to honor where she’s been while celebrating where she’s headed.
We happen to know a little something about giving old things a new chapter around here.
Once home to the historic Levi’s Plant No. 5, Lamy’s has spent its own lifetime evolving. So bringing a vintage marketplace into these old factory walls feels pretty darn appropriate.

17 Vendors. New Finds Every Week.
When Journey Vintage & Co. opens its doors after Labor Day, it won’t be just one shop to explore.
Seventeen vendors will fill the marketplace, bringing their own collections of vintage goods and unique finds—and they’ll be bringing in new vintage pieces every week.
Translation: “I was just there” is not a valid excuse for not going back.
With inventory constantly changing, you never quite know what you’ll discover. That’s half the fun.
And once Journey opens, you’ll have even more reasons to make a full Lamy’s day out of it.
Shop the latest finds at Journey Vintage & Co.
Dig through the records and books at Josey Records.
Pause your treasure hunting for lunch, dinner, a cocktail, or a mocktail at No. 5 Bistro & Bar.
Planning something bigger? Check out our event rental spaces while you’re here.
And if one day simply isn’t enough, make a weekend of it with a stay at The Suites.
Pardon Our Progress. Or Come Peek. 👀
The Journey Vintage & Co. crew has already started moving in and transforming the space ahead of the September opening.
The doors aren’t officially open just yet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be nosy.
If you’re at Lamy’s, take a peek through the windows and watch as everything starts coming together. Over the next few weeks, those empty spaces will begin filling with booths, displays, vintage treasures, and plenty of pieces with stories of their own.
Then, after Labor Day, you’ll finally get to come inside.
We love seeing another locally owned business find its home within these historic walls—and we especially love that this one comes with a history of its own.
From Nostalgia to Journey Vintage & Co., from Levi’s Plant No. 5 to the Lamy’s of today, there’s something pretty special about honoring where you’ve been while making room for what’s next.
After all, that’s the whole point.
Enjoy the journey.
We can’t wait for you to see what’s inside.
Honestly, you may need a bigger trunk.
We’ll see you wandering the aisles soon, where history loves company.
