The Ultimate End-of-Summer Bucket List for Downtown Sedalia
Somehow, we’ve reached that part of summer where everyone starts saying, “Where did summer go?” while there are still plenty of hot days left on the calendar.
Before you start mentally decorating for fall, we have a few things you need to do first.
Consider this your End-of-Summer Lamy’s Checklist. Eight things. One historic building. Very little effort required.

1. Have a Drink on the No. 5 Bistro Patio
You knew this was going to be on the list.
Grab a cocktail, mocktail, glass of wine—or whatever gets you through a Missouri summer—and spend some time on the patio at No. 5 Bistro & Bar. Bonus points if you stay long enough to order dinner.
2. Dig Through the Records at Josey Records
There’s browsing, and then there’s record store browsing.
Take your time. Flip through the bins. Find something you forgot existed. Buy an album because you love it, because the cover is cool, or because you suddenly decided today is the day you become a vinyl person.
We support all three.

3. Have a Proper Brunch
Summer mornings were not made for rushing.
Make plans for brunch at No. 5, order something delicious and give yourself permission to linger a little longer than necessary. Good food, a drink in hand and nowhere you absolutely have to be for the next hour?
That belongs on the bucket list.
4. Buy Yourself Flowers
As Miley Cyrus so helpfully reminded us: you can buy yourself flowers.
And you should.
Stop by the Emerald Gate Flowers display in the Lamy’s entryway and grab a bouquet. No birthday, anniversary or apology required.
Flowers can just be because it’s Tuesday.
5. Take the Downtown Historical Walking Tour
You’ve probably walked through downtown Sedalia plenty of times. But how much do you actually know about the buildings you’re walking past?
Start at Lamy’s and use our Downtown Historical Walking Guide to explore the stories hiding throughout downtown Sedalia. It’s self-guided, so you can go at your own pace—and yes, stopping for food or a drink along the way is absolutely allowed.

Consider it a little exercise with a side of local history.
6. Plan One More Get-Together
Summer has a sneaky way of ending before everyone actually gets around to making plans.
So make the plans.
Gather the friends. Plan the shower. Host the dinner. Celebrate the birthday. We have multiple rental spaces inside Lamy’s, from the entryway and private dining room to the patio and Josey Records.
One building. Several ways to throw a party.

7. Take a Little Staycation
You do not have to cross state lines to officially get away.
The Suites at 112 by Lamy’s are just a few blocks away and ready for a night—or weekend—where someone else has already cleaned the place and you can pretend your responsibilities do not exist.
Honestly, that alone feels like a vacation.
8. Do the Full Lamy’s Day
A Hard Day’s Night? We prefer a leisurely day at Lamy’s.
Come hungry. Browse the records. Grab some flowers. Have lunch or dinner at No. 5. Order a drink. Wander the building. Take the historical walking tour. Maybe even turn the whole thing into a staycation at the Suites.
Basically, see how many things you can cross off this list in one day.
Summer Isn’t Over Yet
There’s still time to squeeze a little more out of summer—and fortunately, you can knock out quite a few bucket-list items without ever leaving downtown Sedalia.
So, how many have you checked off?
And more importantly: which one are you doing next?
