Spring in Sedalia: Patio Dining, Records, Shopping & More at Lamy’s

There are buildings in town that simply exist.

And then there are buildings that live a little life.

Lamy’s definitely falls into the second category.

Long before cocktails were poured at No. 5 Bistro & Bar or records spun at Josey Records, this building had a very different purpose. It was home to a Levi’s factory — a place where denim moved through these halls, where hard work happened daily, and where a lot of Sedalia history quietly took shape.

Fast forward a few decades, and the old factory found a new life.

Today, those same brick walls hold a mix of things we love: food, music, shopping, gathering, and a lot of stories still being written.

If you’ve been around since the early days of the renovation, you’ve seen the transformation. If you’re newer to Lamy’s, welcome — you’ve arrived at a pretty great time.

A Place With a Past

One of our favorite things about this building is that we didn’t try to erase its past — we leaned into it.

The exposed brick.
The big factory windows.
The industrial bones.

All of it reminds us that this place has been part of Sedalia’s story for a long time.

And if you look closely, you’ll still find little hints of that Levi’s-era history woven throughout the space.

We like to think of Lamy’s as history with a second act.

Spring Means Patio Season

Once the Midwest starts teasing us with warmer days, we all start thinking the same thing:

Patio weather.

The No. 5 patio is one of those places where time tends to slow down a little. Lunch outside, evening drinks, or a long dinner that turns into “just one more round.”

It’s also one of the most fun spaces in the building for private gatherings and patio parties.

Birthday dinners.
Work celebrations.
Reunions with friends who finally emerged from winter hibernation.

If you’re looking for a place that feels a little special but still relaxed, patio season at Lamy’s tends to check all the boxes.

What’s Happening Inside the Building

While we love our history, we’re also always adding new chapters.

Over the past few years Lamy’s has grown into something bigger than we first imagined — a place where several small businesses live under one very historic roof.

Inside you’ll find:

No. 5 Bistro & Bar
Lunch, dinner, brunch, cocktails, and plenty of reasons to stay longer than you planned.

Josey Records
A destination for music lovers, book collectors, and anyone who enjoys wandering through stacks of vinyl, books, games, posters, and unexpected finds.

Upcycled by Lamy’s & The Candle Lab
Where reclaimed bottles, handmade candles, and unique gifts are made right here in the building.

And just down the street…

The Suites at 412 by Lamy’s — our boutique Airbnb with seven rooms designed for weekend visitors, events, or anyone who wants to stay right in the heart of historic downtown Sedalia.

Spring in Downtown Sedalia

Spring also means downtown starts buzzing again.

Windows open.
Patios fill up.
People start wandering again instead of sprinting from car to door.

Lamy’s was always meant to be part of that energy — a place where people gather, celebrate, relax, and maybe discover something new while they’re here.

Sometimes that’s a great meal.

Sometimes it’s a record you didn’t know you needed.

Sometimes it’s just an afternoon spent on the patio with good company.

The Best Part of the Story

Buildings like this only stay alive because people keep showing up.

The customers.
The regulars.
The curious first-time visitors.
The folks who remember when this place made jeans.

Every one of you is part of what keeps this old factory building alive.

And as spring rolls in, we’re excited to see the patio fill up again, the doors swing open a little more often, and the next chapter of Lamy’s start to unfold.

So if you haven’t stopped by in a while…

Consider this your excuse.

Spring looks good on Lamy’s. And History Loves Company.
